Abell 746 is a unique system hosting a spectacular double radio relic comma a possible radio halo comma and two radio bright diffuse regions to the east of the cluster. With our proposed XMM-Newton and JVLA observations comma along with existing low frequency radio data comma we will openPar1closePar understand the origin of complex diffuse radio sources openPar2closePar probe the underlying particle acceleration mechanism openPar3closePar characterize the properties of the shocks responsible for these sources openPar4closePar determine the merger scenario by comparison with simulations and openPar5closePar study polarization properties of the relics and the magnetization of the intracluster medium through Faraday analysis.
