The India Human Development Survey (IHDS) is a nationally representative socio-economic database. It was jointly launched in 2004–2005 by the University of Maryland of the United States and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) of India, and primarily compiles multi-dimensional household-level survey data in India covering education, health, employment, income and other relevant domains.
