Dataser (and brief explanation) used distribution of medically important Tityus Koch, 1836 (Buthidae) scorpions in Brazil (IBSP records)

This raw dataset was developed to analyze occurrence records of medically important Tityus Koch, 1836 (Buthidae) scorpions in Brazil, deposited in the IBSP collection (Instituto Butantan, São Paulo, Brazil). It corresponds to part of the results submitted to the journal Toxicon (submission code: TOXCON-D-25-00720), authored by P. Goldoni, A.D. Brescovit, R.A. Castro-Souza, J. Cequinel, E. Marques-da-Silva, and L.F.M. Iniesta. The use of this dataset is currently restricted to the journal editor and reviewers. In due course, it will be made publicly available. The dataset is organized into eight columns: i) IBSP number collection; ii) family; iii) genus; iv) epithet; v) scientific_name; vi) latitude; vii) longitude; viii) leg. The R packages associated with this dataset include: raster, data.table, hablar, tidyverse, ggplot2, ggthemes, sf, and rgeos. Users are encouraged to consult the full references and documentation of these packages for further details regarding their functionalities.
