X-ray spectra and metal abundances of stars across the H-R diagram

GT We want to use the XMM EPIC camera to observe a carefully selected sampleof cool stars located on key positions in the HR diagram, MS and preMS stars.The goal of our observations is to obtain good S/N spectra and metal abundancesof one example of each of the different classes of stars. Our observations onAlgol and YY Gem are timecritical for simultaneous observations with Chandra.On Algol and CF Tuc, we request continuous observations centered on a primaryeclipse. On YY Gem, our observation should be continuous, too, to cover thefull orbit. HR 1084 is a calibration target for stray light monitoring with thetransparent filter, but we need to do our GT observation with the thin filter. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
