Papilio bianor is the ideal models to investigate the origin and evolution of combined colors in insects. We profiled the open chromatin region and expression of three immature stages (4th instar larva, 5th instar larva and pupa) using ATAC-seq (Assay of Transposase Accessible Chromatin with high-throughput sequencing) and RNA-seq. This study provides important data resource for investigating developmental regulatory mechanism in butterfly ontogeny.
