Adipose stem cells from people with obesity show impaired mitochondrial and lysosomal functions

Adipose stem cells (ASCs) have been widely used in preclinical and clinical trials for the treatment of various diseases. However, ASCs from people with obesity (O-ASCs) are not thoroughly investigated. In this study we aimed to evaluate the changes of the biological activity and the function of mitochondria and lysosomes in O-ASCs. We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of 2 different cells.
