This study aims to reveal the gut microbiota and immune changes associated with the disease modifying therapies in patients with multiple sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS). Animal models showed that gut microbiota plays a crucial role in MS pathogenesis. In this study we analysed the composition of gut microbiota in treatment naïve patients and patients treated with three different Disease Modifying Drugs (interferon-ß, fingolimod and cladribine) and compared them with healthy controls (HC). In the next step, we analysed the differences in gut microbiota composition based on treatment response.
