Gut microbiota alterations in patients with panic disorder: a case-control study

A total of 62 participants, aged 18-55 yera wererecruited, comprising 31 patients diagnosed with PD (26 females, 5 males) and 31 matched healthy controls. 16S rRNA gene sequencing (V1-V2 regions). The aim of this study is to explore how gut microbiota composition relates to PD specifically by identifying microbial signatures and metabolites linked to anxiety and stress responses.
