Microbiome of individuals with acute pancreatitis

This study collected fecal samples from patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis (AP) and from AP mice induced by pancreatic duct infusion with taurocholate acid (TCA). Patients were recruited from the Emergency Intensive Care Unit (EICU) of Ruijin Hospital between November 2019 and December 2021 upon admission. Healthy controls, matched for age and gender distribution, were randomly selected from routine physical examinations. Fecal samples from mice were collected 24 hours post-AP induction, with healthy mice serving as controls.The objective of this study was to elucidate the characteristics of AP and their association with in-hospital infectious complications.
