Microbiome avocado Fuerte

The avocado Guatemalan fruits can be contaminated with pathogens during growth, harvest, transport, and handling. The poor storage conditions and inappropriate handling at the retail market might increase the contamination with pathogenic bacteria. In this study, we aimed to analyze the microbiome of ripe Guatemalan avocado fruits in immature (firm) and mature (ready to eat) peel and remining pulp using the 16S metagenomic approach in fruits obtained from a local retail market.
