Root-knot nematodes (RKNs; Meloidogyne spp.), as one of the most economically important plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs), cause severe yield and quality losses in agriculture annually. Application of beneficial rhizobacterium like Bacillus genus is an environmental-safely and effective alternative to control RKNs. Here, we isolated a Bacillus velezensis strain YS-AT-DS1 (Bv-DS1) from the tidal soil. In vitro laboratory assays indicated that Bv-DS1 displayed the obvious antifugal activities against Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium avenaceum and Fusarium graminearum, as well as the nematicidal activity against Meloidogyne incognita. Thus, Bv-DS1 strain could be used to exploit a biocontrol agent for RKN control in sustainable agriculture.
