SDG 15.2.1 Proportion of forest area with a long term management plan

This dataset reports the percentage of Qatar's forest area covered by a documented long-term forest management plan and is one of five sub-indicators used in the SDG 15.2.1 dashboard for progress towards sustainable forest management. It is calculated as forest area under a long-term management plan divided by total forest area, multiplied by 100. Management plans can address objectives such as production of wood and non-wood products, soil and water protection, biodiversity conservation, and social or cultural uses. The existence of a plan is an indication of management preparedness; it does not by itself confirm implementation quality or ecological outcomes.
