In search of the lowest activity iFIP star
收藏资源简介:
Stellar coronal abundances display different patterns from those in thephotospheres, with enhancements of elements of low first ionisation potentials(FIP). The reasons for this are suspected to be rooted in ponderomotive forcesin the stellar atmosphere. For stars with high magnetic activity this coronalabundance patterns is seen inversed (iFIP). Interestingly, for M dwarfs the iFIPpattern is observed across the board; however, only moderately high activity Mdwarfs have been probed for coronal abundances so far. Here we propose tomeasure the coronal abundances of a typical low activity M dwarf in 72 ks. Wewill probe a crucial coronal temperature range to test if the iFIP patternpersists for M dwarfs of low activity or not. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
