Eight value dimensions are selected, including patent validity period, number of inventors, agency status, number of received citations, number of made citations, number of family patents, number of claims, and number of litigation cases. Corresponding coefficients are assigned to each dimension, and the sum of the eight types of values is defined as the comprehensive patent value. The IFS function is used to judge the patent value, which is employed to evaluate the value of existing patents and provide technical support for technicians in this field, market entities, and institutions for technological achievement transformation. The specific algorithm rules are as follows: 1. Patent validity period score: The score is the number of years from the current date (the day the data was downloaded, November 23, 2023) to the estimated expiration date, with 1 point per year. 2. Number of inventors score: 1 point per inventor. 3. Agency status score: 5 points if an agency is involved, 0 points otherwise. 4. Received citations score: +10 points per citation received. 5. Made citations score: +2 points per citation made. 6. Family patents score: +1 point for each additional family patent beyond the baseline of 1. 7. Number of claims score: -1 point for each claim fewer than the baseline of 10, +1 point for each claim more than 10. 8. Litigation cases score: +50 points per litigation case. The final total score is calculated through the above steps.
