资源简介:

A harmonized tropical cyclone database derived from NOAA HURDAT2 best-track data, obtained from the NOAA National Hurricane Center (NHC) data archive. The dataset provides analysis-ready storm track observations, cyclone characteristics, event flags, and derived metrics in standardized CSV and Parquet formats for climatological, statistical, forecasting, and impact-related studies. The database includes tropical cyclone observations for the North Atlantic (AL), East Pacific (EP), Central Pacific (CP), and a combined East–Central Pacific product (EP-CP). Variables include cyclone identifiers, storm type, intensity, minimum central pressure, geographic position, event flags, Saffir–Simpson category, accumulated cyclone energy (ACE), track metrics, and quadrant wind radii for 34-, 50-, and 64-kt winds. Compared with the original HURDAT2 archive, this dataset incorporates standardized cyclone identifiers, minute-resolution timestamps, decoded event flags, derived intensity classifications, ACE contributions, cumulative track metrics, translation speed, lifetime metrics, and distance-from-genesis calculations. Missing values are harmonized and all observations are provided in a consistent tabular structure suitable for direct analysis. A detailed README file is included with metadata, variable descriptions, units, methodological notes, and usage examples. Version 1.1.0 (2026-06-20) extends the initial release by incorporating wind-radii observations, minute-resolution timestamps, additional derived metrics, and enhanced event metadata while maintaining compatibility with the original HURDAT2 record structure.
