THE RARE CASE OF SNR G346.6-0.2: THE NON-THERMAL MIXED-MORPHOLOGY SNR

The detection of nonthermal Xray emission from supernovas remnants (SNRs)provides us a unique window to study particle acceleration at their shockfront.All of the virgul14 SNRs in which nonthermal Xray synchrotron emission has beendetected are shelllike in nature, and show no evidence of interaction withlarge nearby molecular clouds. We propose a deep XMM and NuSTAR observation ofSNR G346.60.2, which is a rare case of a molecular cloud interacting,mixedmorphology SNR that shows nonthermal Xray emission. These observationswill allow us to constrain and characterise the powerlaw tail, better definethe thermal Xray properties across the remnant, determine the effect that adense environment has these properties, as well as the plasma conditions which lead to nonthermal Xrays. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
