Water-sensitive areas

These areas are characterized by the influence of water and are demarcated by the moors, floodplains, gleyes and colluvia. They identify the natural area of influence of the water, in which floods and overflows can occur. Uses can be affected by: overflowing rivers and streams, temporarily high water outflow in otherwise dry valleys or temporarily high groundwater. Unlike officially established floodplains or floodplains intended for establishment, these areas cannot be declared as likely to be flooded. Depending on the local situation, the areas can cover a frequent or even an extreme flood event. In smaller waters where there are no flood areas or flood hazard areas, the representation of the water-sensitive areas can provide indications of possible floods and high groundwater levels and thus be used to estimate the risk of flooding. The water-sensitive areas are defined on the basis of the overview floor map on a scale of 1: Twenty-five thousand worked out. These maps do not contain property boundaries. The concern of individual plots of land can therefore not be read. The water-sensitive areas are represented in a scale range of approx. 1 : 9 000 to 1: 750 000.
