Rubble (2025) - Live Performance

Rubble (2025) is a work for prepared double bass and electronics, and draws upon a tactile memory to establish a connection to the Finnish environment. It is based on an experience of viewing and touching an organic surface of rock and yellow reindeer moss, interpreted through what Hassenzahl calls a “reshaping” of memory and experience (2010, p. 7). The work is structured in two parts: it follows a backing audio track across its duration, combined with a digital score of ordered pitch sets, followed by transducers and a video.
