Snowgrass (2023) is a work for solo double bass, electronics and sampler. It was composed on an artist residency on Suomenlinna in 2023, inspired by the melting snow as it revealed a layer of grass underneath. This work is built around a series of overtone pitch sets and motifs that float around one another. These pitch sets have been recorded and programmed into a sampler, performed live as a second layer of sound.
