XMM- Newton observations of the microquasars 1E 1740.7-2942 and GRS 1758-258

We propose to observe the Galactic Microquasars 1E1740.72942 and GRS 1758258in their standard lowhard state. The aim of this proposal is to search for theultrasoft component recently detected in GRS 1758258. Its presence could arguein favor of the two component accretion flow models recently invoked foraccretion in Black Hole binary systems. We plan to use these data in conjunctionwith the data obtained from the INTEGRAL Galacic Plane and Galactic Center DeepExposure Core program observation in order to measure the high energyComptonised spectrum in the gammaray domain. We will have access to these dataas members of this team are IBIS/INTEGRAL CoIs. A total of 20 ksec is requestedfor this project.
