Acid buffering capacity KAKeff (forest) 1:25.000

The evaluation map ‘Acid buffer capacity KAKeff (Forst) 1:25.000’ shows the mean acid buffer capacity at effective cation exchange capacity for each legend unit of the overview soil map 1:25.000 (ÜBK25), which is differentiated as a forest. The calculation is based on ‘Ministry of the Environment Baden-Württemberg (1995): Assessment of soils according to their performance, Guidelines for planning and permitting procedures, air, soil, waste’, issue 31, p. 25, Annex 4, classified according to Krapp (2006) (unpublished). Each soil horizon is assigned to a horizon group (lay, topsoil, subsoil and subsoil) according to ‘LABO Bund/Länder Arbeitsgemeinschaft Bodenschutz, Background values for inorganic and organic substances in soils (2017)’. If necessary, an evaluation of the characteristic values at horizon group level is possible. The assessment map provides information on locations at risk of acidification, where measures to improve the base stock can be useful.
