Plestiodon gilberti (Gilbert's skink) ranges from the northern Sierra Nevada foothills from south of the Yuba River through the southern Sierra Nevada, and south through the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, the coast ranges, and the southern interior and mountains, into northern Baja California. These skinks are good burrowers and consume a variety of small ground-dwelling invertebrates. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core. For more information, go to: ccgproject.org
