Replication data for "A Comparative Study of GDP and Industrial Production in Indonesia's Natural Rubber Trade: Evidence From Japan"
收藏资源简介:
Compiled dataset underlying the econometric analysis in "A Comparative Study of GDP and Industrial Production in Indonesia's Natural Rubber Trade: Evidence From Japan," which tests whether destination-market industrial production is a more informative proxy for importer demand than gross domestic product in Indonesia's natural rubber exports to Japan. The deposit contains two spreadsheets covering January 2014 to December 2023. Data_Thesis_log_Quarterly.xlsx holds forty quarterly observations of Japanese real gross domestic product, the Japanese industrial production index, the world natural rubber price, Indonesia's real effective exchange rate, and Indonesian export volume of technically specified natural rubber (HS 400122) to Japan. Data_Thesis_log_Monthly.xlsx holds one hundred and twenty monthly observations of the same series, excluding gross domestic product, which is not published at that frequency. Every variable is stored as a base-ten logarithm of the underlying level; no other transformation has been applied. Export volumes were obtained from the export and import statistics portal of Badan Pusat Statistik. The remaining series were retrieved from the Federal Reserve Economic Data service of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, with the real effective exchange rate taken from the OECD consumer price-based measure for Indonesia (CCRETT01IDQ661N quarterly, CCRETT01IDM661N monthly). The tables reported in the chapter can be reproduced from these workbooks by re-estimating the specifications described there. Estimation output and code are not included in this deposit. All source material consists of published official statistics, and none of it is confidential. Several series are subject to third-party copyright and require citation on reuse, specifically those originating from the Cabinet Office of Japan, the International Monetary Fund, and the OECD.
