The properties of the ionized gas in the NLS1 Mkn 335

We propose a triggered ToO observation of the NarrowLine Seyfert 1 galaxy Mkn335 in its low Xray flux state for 200 ks with XMMNewton. Mkn 335 is a verybright NLS1 with an exceptional broad iron line. In 2007 we caught it in anextreme low Xray flux state. Still bright enough in its lowstate, it offeres aunique opportunity to distinguish between two AGN key spectral models, thepartial covering absorber versus reflection models, and to study the .warm.circumnuclear BLR gas with the RGS in detail.
