Production of renewable electricity and biomethane.

In this thesis, the potential for the expansion of electricity generation from photovoltaics, wind, hydropower, biomass and biomethane in the years 2030 and 2040 is collected on the basis of geodata. Objectives relating to nature, species and water conservation are taken into account, but the nature conservation value of areas outside protected areas cannot be assessed using the method used. According to this evaluation, the theoretical and technical potential for the expansion of electricity production from photovoltaics and wind and for the production of biomethane is significantly above the current expansion targets in accordance with the Renewable Expansion Act, so there is also a high expansion potential beyond the year 2030. This expansion should be well reconciled with other protection objectives through proper planning and implementation as well as compensation of burdens.
