Resource consumption of industry in Austria

The report provides an overview of the quantities of wood, ore, metal and mineral raw materials applied in Austria and used in industry. With the help of product use statistics and economic scenarios, a consumption scenario up to the year 2030 is designed for the individual sectors. If specific raw material inputs are updated, the use of goods will increase significantly with economic development (e.g. natural stones from 47.7 million tonnes to 76.0 million tonnes). A separate section is dedicated to the availability and reuse of rare metals in Austria. Rare metals are critical to supply and economically important. While there are already relatively high recycling rates for bulk metals, these are still very low for rare metals for economic reasons.
