Watercourses (WFD) Lower Saxony

The smallest delimited hydrological level of the EC Water Framework Directive (WFD) is the water body (WK). In Lower Saxony, about 1700 water bodies are defined. A water body can consist of several water segments. In addition to the Lower Saxony waters, the Bremen and the waters and bodies of water otherwise touched by Lower Saxony are also depicted. The water body characterization and evaluation is integrated with results of the assessment of the overall ecological status/potential and the overall chemical status for the creation of topic maps as an attribute.
