This study aims to characterize a potentially novel Streptomyces species isolated in soils of Mount Mayon. This study may contribute to the scientific community by providing a new addition to the taxonomic classification of Streptomyces species which is a well-known antibiotic producer. Moreover, this study may also lead to discovery of new antimicrobial compounds that may be effective against various pathogens.
