A novel stereoselective approach for synthesising a 10-membered β-resocylic macrolide, relgro (1) was established, utilising known chiral bis-epoxide and commercially made available Orsellinic acid. Key steps included Yamaguchi macrolactonization, hydroboration and alkylation of 1,3–dithiane as key steps.
