The Christmas Bird Count is a century-old hemispheric community science initiative organized by the National Audubon Society. This database collects bird observation data from annual surveys conducted between December 14 and January 5 of the following year since 1900, providing researchers with long-term research information about early-winter bird populations in North America. These data have been used in hundreds of scientific studies by scientists worldwide, and support Audubon’s year-round bird conservation work.
