Antibody sites of vulnerability on the HIV-1 envelope (Env) defined by broadly neutralizing antibodies isolated from HIV-1-infected donors may provide critical clues for rational design of an effective HIV-1 vaccine. Here we report the identification of a monoclonal antibody (mAb) named VRC-PG05 from a donor in the Protocol G cohort from whom we previously isolated the broadly neutralizing VRC-PG04 lineage that targets the CD4-binding site (CD4BS) on gp120.
