资源简介:

This dataset contains measurements from 10 light-off experiments conducted on a synthetic gas test bench (SGB) at the Chair of Thermodynamics of Mobile Energy Conversion Systems (TME), RWTH Aachen University. The experiments compare two oxidation catalysts with similar palladium (Pd)-based formulations applied to different monolithic carriers: a conventional series-production cordierite substrate and a 316L stainless steel substrate manufactured by selective laser melting (SLM). The measurement campaign investigates the influence of the carrier material and its thermal properties on pollutant conversion and catalyst heating behavior. It aims to assess the feasibility of additively manufactured metallic carriers for automotive exhaust aftertreatment and to establish a test procedure for comparing their thermal response with that of conventional cordierite carriers. Carbon monoxide (CO) and methane (CH₄) were used as model exhaust gas species and oxidized in oxygen-containing gas mixtures, with nitrogen (N₂) as the balance gas. The experiments cover three gas compositions and three heating protocols. These comprise a quasi-static reference ramp of 5 K/min and two transient heating protocols intended to represent aspects of automotive cold-start heating. For the transient protocols, the test bench temperature setpoint was increased in a step to 450 °C, using either limited or maximum heater power to obtain slower or faster heating, respectively. The dataset includes temperature measurements, mass flow controller data, and gas analyzer readings, with a focus on the light-off phase. Temperature measurements within the catalyst samples provide insight into their thermal response and the temperature rise associated with exothermic oxidation reactions. Together, these measurements support the comparison of pollutant conversion, light-off behavior, and heat release for the two carrier types. The 10 experiments cover selected combinations of the following gas compositions and heating protocols. Gas compositionsAll concentrations are given as volume fractions. CO: 1,000 ppm; O₂: 3,000 ppm; N₂ balance. CO: 10,000 ppm; O₂: 30,000 ppm; N₂ balance. CH₄: 100 ppm; O₂: 3,000 ppm; N₂ balance. Heating protocols Quasi-static: nominal temperature ramp of 5 K/min. Slow transient: step change in the test bench temperature setpoint to 450 °C with limited heater power. Fast transient: step change in the test bench temperature setpoint to 450 °C with maximum heater power. The datasets follow this nomenclature: “CarrierMaterial_Concentation_Species_RampGradient_InternalIdentifier.csv” , where: the internal identifier is used for referencing into the internal database.
