Knee osteoarthritis molecular subgroups revealed by pathogenic joint gene expression

With the aim of being able to apply precision medicine to knee OA treatment, we have carried out multicenter clinical research using mRNA expression profiles of human knee OA cartilage. We have identified OA subgroups linked with major biological and metabolic pathways. Our findings point the way to future studies guiding therapeutic and preventive interventions and thus improving outcomes for OA sufferers.
