Estonian Compound Word Games

The database ESTONIA LITERAL PLAYS is a digital copy of the paper cartotheque prepared on the basis of word games in the handwritten collections of the Estonian Folklore Archives of the Estonian Literary Museum.
In addition to collections, the database contains composite word games published in various publications.

Composite word-playing mystery questions in the borderlands of folklore and language, which mostly begin with the starting form What? Or what? The expected answer to the question, however, is not the adjective that usually corresponds to these questions, but mostly the compounding word (What frogs do not croak? Suits; What kind of sausage is not eaten? Sloth; What choir does not sing? Sour cream).

The database contains all the composite word games collected until 1996.
