Regional LiDAR 5m Contours (2020)

Contours at heights of 5 metres, generated from a Digital Terrain Model with 1 metre cells through the Spatial Analysis toolset in ArcGIS Pro. These contours have been simplified to remove excess vertices in an effort to reduce the size of the final product. This dataset holds the contours for the entire region, cut into the Topo50 tile grid for ease of access within the dataset. Please note that the file is 1.3 gigabytes in size and will take a significant period to fully download. The original dataset these contours were derived from was created in 2013 from a LiDAR captured at 1.3 points per metre2, reprocessed in 2017. More recent DTMs collected by Greater Wellington were mosaiced over the 2013 data in 2020. The data is held in New Zealand Transverse Mercator with the heights modelled in the New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016.
