These samples have been collected from the Raritan River in New Jersey. Sample splits were treated with Propidium monoazide (PMA) dye to reduce signal from "non-viable" cell DNA. Control samples were not treated with PMA dye and represented the "total" community. Multiple displacement amplification (MDA) was done on all samples before sequencing.
