Antibiotic resistance enterobacteria isolated from Bonobos from the Republic of Congo: a whole genome sequencing study.

In this study, we screened fecal samples from bonobos in a non-antibiotic environment for the presence of antibiotic resistance, mainly focusing on enterobacteria of interest. We aimed to elucidate the role of human activity in the process of antibiotic resistance in wildlife. We also highlighted the possible transferable resistance determinants responsible for the spread of resistant bacteria and specific clones through extensive genomic analysis.
