Virome Characterization of the Corn Leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis)

The objective of this project is to identify and characterize viruses associated with the corn leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis) to assess their potential as insect-specific biocontrol agents. By understanding the diversity and biology of these viruses, we aim to evaluate their applicability in reducing corn leafhopper populations and mitigating the transmission of plant pathogens.
