De-identified student pre- and post-program survey response data for FLOWS environmental literacy and resilience education in Southeast Texas, 2025–2028.

This dataset will contain de-identified, non-aggregated student pre- and post-program survey response data generated by the FloodSmart Southeast Texas Youth Initiative for Environmental Literacy and Community Resilience (FLOWS) in the Golden Triangle region of Southeast Texas. FLOWS is a three-year Lamar University project that will engage students in grades 8-10 in place-based environmental literacy and community resilience learning centered on rain gardens and stormwater challenges. The student survey dataset is being planned to support analysis and potential manuscripts about changes in environmental literacy, interest in environmental problem-solving, confidence in taking action on local environmental issues, and related learning outcomes captured through the project evaluation plan. Expected contents include de-identified study identifiers, cohort information, broad site/grade descriptors, survey wave, survey administration date, coded item responses, and derived scale scores or summary variables as defined in the data dictionary. Survey responses will be collected using structured pre- and post-program instruments administered under Lamar University IRB review, approval, or formal exemption, with unique respondent codes used to preserve anonymity and support matched analysis. Data collection/generation is expected during 2025-10-01 through 2028-09-30. The public-facing dataset, if submitted, will exclude names, contact information, and other direct identifiers and will be limited to the de-identified response data needed to support external publications or presentations.
