Ditches – Processing of the National Board of Forestry’s nationwide ditch mapping

The National Board of Forestry’s nationwide ditch mapping from November 2021 (raster format in 1 × 1 m resolution) has been assigned and is now available for download in vector format by county and per main catchment area. The trenches have been categorised into the following five classes: road ditch, forest ditch, ditch on open wetland, ditch on arable land and other ditches using buffered road surfaces (processed by Statistics Sweden 2020, originally from the Swedish Transport Administration) and National Land Cover Data (NMD) v1.1. The ditch mapping is also available as a processed version, where the processing has aimed to increase the connectivity of the analysis and faulty ditches in seas and lakes have been removed. Data is available for download in vector format nationally, the layer is not assigned.
