Pottery Dataset - Preludium 21 - Sail South to Reach the East - Berenike and Red Sea as a Lacking Puzzle of Late Antique Indian Ocean Trade.

This dataset contains all ceramic records compiled during the implementation of the National Science Centre (Poland) grant Preludium 21, entitled Sail South to Reach the East – Berenike and the Red Sea as a Missing Piece in the Puzzle of Late Antique Indian Ocean Trade (Reg. No. 2022/45/N/HS3/01784). The dataset comprises: Two structured pottery databases, corresponding to the archaeological sites of Berenike and Sikait. Two chronological tables providing detailed information on the dating of excavated loci from both sites. The databases include quantified ceramic material recorded during fieldwork and post-excavation analysis. The chronological tables synthesize stratigraphic and typological data to support the proposed dating framework for individual contexts.
