Corona data donation - Partial data set Experience and behaviour in the pandemic

The data from fitness wristbands and smartwatches, so-called wearables, can provide indications of symptoms of infection with COVID-19. With the help of the <a href="https://corona-datenspende.de/science/">Corona data donation app</a> (CDA), citizens can make these data available to the Robert Koch Institute for scientific evaluation. Together with information from other sources, e.g. official reporting data on case numbers, these data help the scientists to better record and understand the spread of the coronavirus.<br><br>In its first version, available since April 2020, the CDA collected only so-called vital data of the users, in particular the resting pulse, physical activity and sleep behavior. In an update in October 2021, survey modules on various issues relevant to pandemic research were added to the app. The data provided here come from the sub-study “Experience and behaviour in the pandemic”, which is currently being carried out as one of three survey modules within the CDA. It is based on <a href="https://projekte.uni-erfurt.de/cosmo2020/web/">COVID-19 Snapshot Monitoring (COSMO)</a>, a repetitive cross-sectional monitoring of knowledge, risk perception, protective behaviour and trust during the current COVID-19 outbreak (Betsch et al., 2022). In this study, the Robert Koch Institute and leading behavioral researchers want to find out how the population behaves under pandemic conditions. By answering regular questionnaires, participants can help to optimize strategies to combat the coronavirus. The researchers want to learn more about everyday working life, personal stress and risk perception.<br><br>The data provided here are used to reproduce all the results in the study “From Delta to Omicron: The role of individual factors and social context in compliance with pandemic regulations and recommendations” (Sprengholz et al., 2022, in peer review). Therefore, the data points from the study “Experience and behaviour in the pandemic” that are needed for this purpose are provided here. This also means that not all data points collected in the context of this study, such as information on COVID-19 test results, as well as all times of the survey, are included in this data set.
