High bog borders Moor protection program Part I

Geologically defined high bog boundaries (limit of peat bearings with a thickness of at least 30 cm) of the bog protection program. In 1981, a total of 88 high bogs of the lowlands were recorded in Part I of the Moor Protection Programme, which are significant as peat deposits and have a high importance for nature conservation. Predominantly, industrial peat mining is or has been operated in these bogs.
