The onset of magnetic activity in X-rays - From late A to early F stars

We propose to observe a sample of late A to early F stars with XMMNewton tosystematically investigate coronal properties at the onset of stellar magneticactivity in Xrays. These stars feature a thin or localized outer convectionzone and have been only poorly explored by modern Xray instruments. We focus onnearby, presumably single mainsequence stars with well known stellarparameters.
