In 1980 the State of Alaska adopted the following regional subdivisions for the description of mining activity: Northern, Western, Eastern Interior, Southwestern, Southcentral, Alaska Peninsula, and Kodia and southeastern. This map depicts the approximate boundaries of mining regions in Alaska.
