Hydrometric sites and stations - HYD

A hydrometric site is a geographical location (section of watercourses) on which flow measurements are made and deemed homogeneous and comparable with each other. To simplify the cartographic exploitation, the hydrometric site is reduced to a point.

A hydrometric station is a device installed on a hydrometric site in order to measure a specific quantity related to hydrometry (height or flow). This is usually a limnimetric scale that allows the observation of water height. A station may carry a height and/or flow rate, directly measured or calculated from a calibration curve.
