Three-year average (year T-2 to year T), number of inpatients due to accidental injuries (accidents) per 1000 inhabitants. The indicator indicates the number of persons cared for at least 24 hours in inpatient care. The information is taken from the National Board of Health and Welfare’s patient register. The register contains, among other things, all treatment sessions where the patient was discharged from a Swedish hospital during the year in question as a result of external cause = accident. The same person can only occur once in the same year. The number of treatment sessions is adjusted with data from Statistics Sweden on the population of each municipality.
