Yukon Contaminant Biomonitoring: Investigating the Links Between Contaminant Exposure and Traditional Food Use

The purpose of this project is to engage the Vuntut Gwich'in First Nation in Old Crow, Yukon, as a pilot project in determining the feasibility of a human biomonitoring survey in the Yukon. Existing dietary and environmental health surveys will be adapted for this audience using focus groups in Old Crow. Partnerships among Yukon First Nations, other governments and research scientists will be created to facilitate the planning of a human biomonitoring survey in the Yukon.
