Coronal Activity of Very Low Mass Stars in the Pleiades SSC_30

GTThis proposal has two main objectives: (i) to measure the Xrayluminosity of very low mass stars and brown dwarfs in the Pleiades; (ii)to obtain high quality EPIC Xray spectra for brighter Pleiades members.The Pleiades is one of the nearest and beststudied open star clusters tothe Sun and, with the Hyades, has formed the basis of many extensivestudies of stellar and galactic structure and evolution. The surfacedensity of stars in the Pleiades makes it an ideal target for XMM.
