In this study, we analyzed a plant paleo-community of the Arctic mammoth steppe through DNA sequencing of the well-preserved intestinal content in a bison ice mummy, known as the Alazeya steppe bison, which was discovered in the Kolyma Lowlands in northeast Russia in 2009 and dated to >48,000 14C years before present.
